My name is Olivia Rodriguez and I work as the Vocational Manager for Jodi’s Heart Inc. It is my goal to seek out employment for each individual who would like to and is able to work within the community. I believe that any of our participants can get a job that fits their abilities. Our Vocational program consists of job assessment, job development, job coaching, and skills assessment. We are also working on starting a jobs skill class. We work through DVR to provide funding for on the job training to assess which kind of job would work best for the participant and to place them in the right setting for them to strive and succeed on the job.
Our job coaches support the participants at work to a successful and positive work experience. They provide modeling as necessary to help the participant learn their job. Job coaches are provided on the work site as long as necessary and until the participant feels comfortable being on their own.
Some of the employers in the community that we are working with are; Wal Mart, Kmart, Fremont Motors, Rocky Mountain Ambulance, Sheridan College, Safeway, and Honda Motors. |
