Jodi’s Heart currently has four residential homes for our clients. All our homes are beautiful four bedroom stand alone houses. At Jodi’s Heart we feel it is important for all our clients to have their own space and for this reason, all our clients living in our homes have their own bedrooms. This is one of our core beliefs and we feel it is one of the many things that set Jodi’s Heart apart from other service providers. Clients are encouraged to decorate their rooms to fit their tastes. This is where they live and we want it to be home for them.
At our houses we focus on helping our clients to live as independently as possible. Our houses are staffed whenever there are clients in the house. Our staff is responsible for preparing all meals for our clients (often times with the help of our clients) and our menu was developed and approved by a nutritionist to help ensure the health of our clients. We work with our clients on learning how to complete daily living tasks including cooking, cleaning and laundry. All clients are urged to be as independent as possible in their living. Clients are also responsible for keeping their rooms and houses clean with the help of our caring staff. We find this gives them a sense of ownership and pride in their house. They all love showing off their houses anytime we have visitors.
One of our houses also has a state of the art lift system installed in the ceiling for our wheelchair bound clients.
In addition to full Residential Habilitation services, Jodi’s Heart also offers Supported Living Services to participants who live in their own homes or apartments. Like all services, Supported Living services are based upon the participant’s needs and wants. For some participants two hours a week to help with cleaning and cooking is enough. For other participants, staff comes in daily to help them with their daily living tasks. Again, it is all up to the participant and what they need and want.
