Day Habilitation

Our Day Habilitation Center is located at 54 Seymour just off North Main St. in Sheridan. Day Habilitation is available to all adult participants, both DD and ABI. During Day Habilitation hours we focus on helping our participant maximize their independence while having some fun. We are always busy with some activity or another and when the weather is nice it is rare to find more than a few participants at our Day Habilitation center. Our Day Habilitation center includes a brand new coffee house where our participants can enjoy a latte or an iced Italian Soda, a beauty bar where we get regular haircuts, a full sized kitchen, a craft room, a media room, an exercise room, and three quiet rooms. We also have two handicap accessible bathrooms as well as a full handicap accessible shower.

Some of our activities include: golfing, swimming at the Kendrick Pool, scrapbooking, visiting the Bird Farm, and arts and crafts. We feel it is important for all our participants to exercise and we have found several different ways to help our participants stay active. We have a wonderful partnership with the Sheridan County YMCA where we are able to swim, walk, play basketball, and racquetball. We also are regular visitors to the local parks in the City of Sheridan. We walk, play tennis, kickball, and basketball outdoors when the weather is good. We also have an exercise room with a treadmill, exercise bike and gazelles for the days when the weather is not agreeable. One other form of exercise our participants really enjoy is the Nintendo Wii. Both the staff and participants enjoy exercising using the Wii!
